Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Funding

The EU Commission awards Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships to excellent doctoral researchers with at least four years of postgraduate research experience (diploma or master's degree).

  • Scientists apply with their own research projects for funding at research institutions of their choice, also in the research economy.
  • The mobility rule applies: Researchers may not have lived or worked for more than 12 months in the country in which they wish to carry out their research project within the last three years.

Variations of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships: European Fellowship and Global Fellowship

  • European Fellowships have a maximum duration of 24 months. Scientists apply at institutions in the EU and in the countries associated with the EU. This funding line is also suitable for integrating excellent young scientists into your research group for a period of up to two years with full funding!   • Global Fellowships have a maximum duration of 24 months of research in a third country (non-EU or EU-associated) and a mandatory return period of 12 months to the European institution.

Individual Fellowships are aimed at scientists of all career levels and are also suitable as a funding instrument for stays abroad for professors and research assistants!
